Exchange of Vows 12
When I was little,
I always imagined whom I would fall in love with,
And whom I would marry.
What qualities that person would have,
And what that person would be like.
I asked God to send me this dream of a person.
But God never did.
He sent me who He had dreamed of for me;
Someone of great beauty inside and out.
Someone of great Intelligence.
Someone who would love me like no other.
He sent me someone of GREATER quality than I had asked.
And I’m so thankful.
For He sent me you.
I love you.

Exchange of Vows 13

your comrade in adventure,
your student and your teacher,
your consolation in disappointment,
your accomplice in mischief,
your strength in your need and vulnerable to you in my own,
and most of all,
your associate in the search for enlightenment.
When I go to the place in me that is Love.
And you go into that place in you that is Love.
There we are One.

I see your beauty,
your innocence and light.
May it shine.

Guest Participation of Vows 52
And now, BRIDE and GROOM have a wedding gift to give all of you gathered here today. As they speak their vows to one another, they’d like to give you the chance to experience the same affirmation of love. Because love is alive, it blossoms when shared with others.

They ask you to think of anyone to whom you’d like to say, “I love you.” Whether a spouse, sibling, child, parent or friend. Close your eyes and see the place within. Create a picture of that person in your minds’ eye and speak to that picture. Grasp that person’s hand as BRIDE and GROOM each grasp theirs and silently repeat after me:

(BRIDE and GROOM repeat out loud to each other simultaneously)

I love you and respect you.

I appreciate the gift of your love.

Knowing you has enriched my life beyond measure.

You make my life complete.

Now say good-bye to that person and wish them well, while we celebrate with BRIDE and GROOM and bless their good fortune.
