I, BRIDE, renew my vows of marriage to you. You are my life partner, my best friend, and companion.

You are the supporter of my dreams and guardian of my heart. I will spend the rest of my days at your side.

I thank you for providing a nurturing, challenging and loving environment in which to grow. What I promised before, I gladly promise again to love you, honour you, and respect you above all others.

Exchange of Renewal of Vows 2

We are gathered here to celebrate a sacred agreement which BRIDE and GROOM made ____ years ago.

I congratulate them on the journey of their lives, on the strength and the courage it has taken for each of them to make their way to this place.

Over the last ______ years both of you have found a way to put aside childish things and embrace a very serious love.

We see today the blessings of your love: Your fine children, _______, and your families and your friends gathered here with you. This is an occasion of celebration and hope.

May this ceremony confirm your marriage and may your home be a place of continued joy and gladness.

Exchange of Renewal of Vows 3

Marriage is a life long commitment not to be entered into thoughtlessly or lightly. BRIDE and GROOM you have realized this and you have grown together as one, in your love, and today you wish to renew your commitments and vows, to pursue this enduring, loving and sacred relationship that you have created on the foundation of your everlasting love.

Life has blessed this union, and this blessing has been received with love, faith and hope. When you married, you had no idea what life had in store for you.

Your togetherness as husband and wife at times may have been under difficult circumstances, perhaps doing without some of the necessities of life, and even may have depended on the love and support of others for your survival.

When you took your wedding vows that day you promised to love each other whether rich or poor, and in sickness and health.

At times your circumstances may have required great faith and your faith never wavered. You kept that vow to one another and stand here today remaining true to each other over the years.

Your marriage has been the most important commitment of your lives and you are the most important persons to one another. As your love has grown deeper and more comfortable with each passing year, so too has your relationship gone beyond anything you could have imagined.

For these reasons, you stand here now to compassionately and joyfully reaffirm your wedding vows and your love for one another.

To depend on another is truly a blessing in life; to have someone to share the joys of life as well as its sorrows multiplies the pleasure and divides the pain. It is a gift to all of us to witness this kind of relationship and this celebration of eternal love.

Exchange of Renewal of Vows 4

Today, we reaffirm our commitment to each other as beloveds and partners in marriage.

We continue to strive to be sensitive to each other’s needs, to be open and understanding with each other, and to share our thoughts, our feelings, and our experiences with each other.

We renew our promise to try always to bring out the qualities of forgiveness, compassion and integrity in our selves and in each other.

We continue to cherish each other’s uniqueness

We continue to share in life’s joys and remain steadfast and comfort each other through life’s sorrows.

Exchange of Renewal of Vows 10

We are gathered together here today to witness the reaffirmation of the wedding vows of BRIDE and GROOM.

After ____ years of marriage they have learned that happiness is not something that just happens. A good marriage must be created.

In the art of marriage the little things are the big things… It’s never being to old to hold hands. It’s remembering to say, “I love you”.

It’s never going to sleep angry with one another. It’s always appreciating your spouse.

It’s having a mutual sense of values and common objectives. It’s standing together and facing the world. It’s forming a circle of love that gathers the whole family. It’s doing things for each other, not in the attitude of duty or sacrifice, but in the spirit of joy.

It’s speaking words of appreciation and demonstrating gratitude in thoughtful ways. It’s not looking for perfection in each other.

It’s cultivating flexibility, patience, understanding, and a sense of humor. It’s establishing a relationship in which independence is equal, dependence is mutual; and the obligation is reciprocal.

What greater thing is there for two human souls than to feel that they are joined together for life, to strengthen each other in all labor, to rest on each other in all sorrow, to minister to each other in all pain, to be one with each other in silent, unspeakable memories.

With this reaffirmation ceremony we pray that your lives together will continue to be blessed with health, peace, and happiness for you, your children, and your family.

From “Shall We Dance”

The good things, the bad things, the terrible things, the mundane things… all of it, all of the time, every day. You’re saying ‘Your life will not go unnoticed because I will notice it. Your life will not go un-witnessed because I will be your witness’.”

(Bride), hold (Groom’s) hand, touch his ring, symbolically giving it to him again, and say to him these words.
From this day on, I recommit myself to you, and this ring is a symbol of my pledge.

Let these rings serve not as locks binding you together, but as keys, unlocking the secrets of your hearts for each
other to know, and thus bringing you closer together forever.

Pronouncement
